Paragraph is a HTML 2 tag <P> denoting a paragraph break. There is no longer an </P> tag, it has become obsoleted.
Unlike documents in most word processors, carriage returns in HTML files are generally not significant. Word wrapping can occur at any point in a file and multiple spaces are collapsed into a single space. Browsers ignore any indentations or blank lines in the source text. HTML relies instead almost entirely on the tags for formatting instructions. A Web browser starts a new paragraph only when it reaches a
tag. (A number of other elements automatically insert text separation, such as headings, list elements, and blockquotes.)
